No tsunami threat to Sri Lanka - Met. Dept.
November 18, 2022National Tsunami Early Warning Centre of the Department of Meteorology stated that there is no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka due to the earthquake of magnitude 6.8 reported in the South of Sumathra in the Indian Ocean at 7.07 p.m. today evening (Nov 18).
The Met. Dept. in consultation with relevant national and international agencies further informs the Public that the coastal areas of Sri Lanka are declared safe.
