A total of 14,125 PCR tests conducted yesterday (06)

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 07) stands at 649 and the total cases in the country increased to 27,876 the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

One  person among the total positives identified yesterday was a Sri Lankan repatriated from overseas while 295 positives from Colombo District, 87 from Gampaha District and 51 from Kaluthara District have been identified, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 07).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 24,318 and out of them, a total of 17,052 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 14,125 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (06) and  the day’s total recoveries from the virus during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (07) stands at 370.

Meanwhile, the total arrived in the country today morning included 50 from Qatar and 52 from Saudi Arabia.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 20,459 persons. 7,277 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,879 persons are quarantining under 67 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 140 along with three Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
