Pooneryn civilians get spectacles through Army mediation
November 25, 2022Sri Lanka Army (SLA) in coordination with the overseas-based expatriate, Mrs. Lucky Gunathilaka of ‘Nethsarana’ Australia Foundation recently gave away spectacles to more than 1500 needy civilians with vision impairment at Pooneryn Central College.
Security Force Headquarters - Mullaitivu (SFHQ-MLT) with 66 Infantry Division HQ arranged the community-oriented programme which also included an award of 10 sets of library books for distribution among 10 school libraries in remote areas in Pooneryn, the SLA sources said.
Commander, Security Forces – Mullaitivu, Maj. Gen. Sanjaya Wanasinghe and Senior Officers were present at the occasion.
