Arrested Arms and Ammunitions
December 07, 2020The Sri Lanka (SL) Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and STF were on alert on illegal weapons and ammunition during the past week. Operations in search of illegal firearms were underway in keeping with the government's vision to curb underworld activities.
Accordingly, 10 locally manufactured weapons, 08 illegally smuggled weapons, 09 weapon accessories, 31 bombs and 1014 rounds have been nabbed and a total of 16 persons arrested.
Compared to the last week, underworld activities and the recovered illegal weapons and accessories are less.
