Jaffna based female cricketer receives new house from Army
January 11, 2023Sri Lanka Army (SLA) constructed a new house for Ms. Selvarasa Kiristiga of Victoria College in Chulipuram, Jaffna, who is a member of the Under 19 Women’s National Cricket Squad, in appreciation of her recent achievements at the national level.
Army has constructed the house with the sponsorship of Thiyahie Charitable Trust and Chullipuram Kovil Trustees.
Financial aid for the project was granted by Mr. Vamadewa Thiagendran, the Founder and Chairman of Thiyahie Charitable Trust while Chulipuram Kovil Trustees donated the land to construct the house, the Army sources said.
Troops of the 16 Gemunu Watch (GW), 513 Infantry Brigade of the 51 Division under the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) contributed to the project with their manpower and expertise, the SLA said.
Keys of the new house were handed over to Ms. Kiristiga and her family during a brief housewarming ceremony attended by SF-J Commander, Maj. Gen. Swarna Bothota, Senior Officers and Other Ranks, sponsors and relatives of the recipient.
