Cyber Security Awareness for MOD Staff
January 17, 2023Ministry of Defence (MOD) organized an awareness programme on Cyber Security for MOD staff today (17 Jan) at MOD.
The programme, organized by the Information Technology Division of the MOD was held to educate the staff on identifying and taking precautionary measures to prevent possible threats.
During the progrmme, Director, Information Technology of the Sri Lanka Army Brig. Sajith Liyanage and a team of the Army’s Cyber Security Unit (CSU) led by Commanding Officer 12 Sri Lanka Signal Corp Colonel KVP Dhammika delivered lectures on various types of cyber - attacks and preventive measures that have to be adopted during such occasions.
Senior Ministry officials including Additional Secretary - Civil Security & Development Saman Dissanayake, Director General - Planning Anura Ranasinghe, Acting Additional Secretary – Technical Eng. W R N R Premachandra, Chief Finance Officer (ii) DS Padmasiri and Communication Advisor of MOD Brig. Ashoka Gunasekara, Senior Military Officers and MOD staff attended the session.
