The total Coronavirus recoveries in the country rose to 21,257 - NOCPCO

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 09) stands at 798 and the total cases reported in the country increased to 29,377, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

One  person among the total positives identified yesterday was a Sri Lankan repatriated from overseas while 526 positives from Colombo District, 97 from Gampaha District and 53 from Kaluthara District have been identified, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 09).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 25,818 and out of them, a total of 17,850 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 11,182 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (08) and  the day’s total recoveries from the virus during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (09) stands at 454.

Meanwhile, 289 persons have arrived in the country today morning and  269 more arrivals are expected during the day.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 21,257 persons. 7,978 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,594 persons are quarantining under 62 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

Coronavirus deaths have not been reported from the country during the last 24 hours.
