New Director - NCC Meets State Minister
January 25, 2023The newly appointed Director of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Brigadier G.S. Fonseka made a call on the State Minister of Defence Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon MP at the State Ministry of Defence in Colombo today (25 Jan).
During the ensuing cordial discussion the State Minister asked the new NCC Director to take necessary measures to popularize cadetting connecting the North and East with the rest of the country as directed by the President and also emphasized the need to pay more attention to language skills development, personality building and discipline in their training.
Incidentally Brig. Fonseka is the first serving regular officer to be appointed as Director of the NCC.
At the end of the meeting the State Minister and Brig. Fonseka exchanged mementoes to mark the occasion.
