KDU welcomes the new Chancellor
January 30, 2023General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) bade farewell to the outgoing Chancellor of the KDU General Gerard Hector de Silva (Retired) and warmly welcomed the newly appointed KDU Chancellor General Shantha Kottegoda (Retired) during a simple ceremonial function held recently at the KDU.
During the occasion, Vice Chancellor of the KDU Maj. Gen. Milinda Peiris appreciated the service rendered by the former Chancellor, the KDU sources said.
The new Chancellor of the KDU, General Kottegoda with a distinguished military career had earlier served as Sri Lankan Ambassador to Brazil, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Thailand and Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Sri Lanka.
Rectors of the Metropolitan Campus and Southern Campus, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Deans of Faculties, Directors, Senior Academics, Senior Officers and Staff participated in this occasion.
