Turkish Defence Attaché meets Defence Secretary
February 03, 2023Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkiye for Sri Lanka, Colonel Servet Okumus paid a courtesy call on the Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Headquarters Complex, Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte today (Feb 3).
Following a warm reception, the Sri Lankan Defence Secretary held a cordial discussion with the Turkish Defence Attaché on matters of bilateral importance and mutual relevance.
During the exchange of views, the mutually supportive relations existing between the two countries were recalled and avenues to further enhance defence cooperation were also discussed.
Mementos were exchanged between the two officials to mark the occasion.
The Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkiye based in India is here in Sri Lanka to participate in the Independence Day Ceremony that will be held at the Galle Face Green in Colombo tomorrow (Feb 4).
Military Liaisons Officer of the Defence Ministry in Sri Lanka Maj. Gen. Dinesh Nanayakkara was also present at the meeting.
