The total recovery from the virus rose to 22,260-NOCPCO

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 11) stands at 538 and the total cases in the country increased to 30,612, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

A total of 68  persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas while 469 positives have been identified locally which included 304 from Colombo District, 28 from Gampaha District and 38 from Kandy District, the NOCPCO confirmed today.

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 26,981 and out of them, a total of 18,353 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 14,416 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (10) and  the day’s total recoveries from the virus during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today stands at 461.

Meanwhile, the arrivals from overseas to the country today morning from Qatar, Australia and Japan stood at 137. Further, 208 will arrive today from the Maldives, Italy, UK, Malaysia and China and they will be referred for quarantining.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 22,260 persons. 8,206 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,896 persons are quarantining under 65 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

Two coronavirus deaths were reported from Colombo 02 and Weligama during the last 24 hours making the total death count of the country due to the Coronavirus increased to 146.
