Point Pedro community joins the Army in beach cleaning
March 21, 2023The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops under the Security Force Headquarters (SFHQ) - Jaffna recently launched a beach cleaning programme in the coastal areas of Munai, Point Pedro, Supermadam and Sakkotai.
4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 16 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops under the 551 Infantry Brigade together with more that 500 civilians actively engaged in the community project.
Sri Lanka Navy, Police, Point Pedro Divisional Secretary's office, Urban Council, Department of Coast Conservation and Coastal Resource Management also joined hands to complete the beach clean-up effort of the Army, the SLA sources stated.
