Drug prevention awareness programme for Army personnel in Jaffna
March 24, 2023An awareness programme on drug prevention was held for Army personnel serving in Jaffna recently (19 Mar). According to Sri Lanka Army (SLA) media sources, a lecture session on ‘Drug Addiction and Prevention from such Habitual Acts’ was conducted at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) on Sunday (19 Mar).
The programme was initiated under the guidance of Commander, SF - J Maj. Gen. Swarna Bothota was attended by 27 Officers and 300 Other Ranks personnel while lectures were done by police officers.
Following this another lecture was conducted the next day (20 Mar) at the 55 Infantry Division premises, with the participation of 29 Officers and 410 Other Rank personnel, on the directions of the General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division Maj. Gen. Prasanna Gunarathne, it says.
