NDC course participants pay attention to environment and its future
March 24, 2023Prof Sarath Kotagama conducted a guest lecture to the course participants of the National Defence College (NDC) at the College premises in Galle Road, Colombo 03, recently (22).
Prof. Kotagama, who is renowned as the Professor Emeritus, Department of Zoology and Environment Sciences of the University of Colombo has also contributed immensely towards the policy planning of the government by introducing numerous guidelines on nature and wildlife.
The renowned Professor shared knowledge on environment protection and concerns for the future of Sri Lanka, the NDC sources said adding that a fruitful interactive session was also held prior to the discussion for the benefit of the course participants.
The guest lecturer was invited in keeping with the course curriculum of the ‘National Security and Strategic Studies Course’ and the occasion was held as a ‘Diners Club’ event, the NDC sources further said.
He was warmly welcomed and received at the College by Commandant Maj. Gen. Sujeewa Senarath Yapa on his arrival.
The Commandant NDC presented a memento to Prof Kotagama as a gesture of goodwill and also to signify the occasion.
