Two deserving Jaffna families receive Army-built houses

The Sri Lanka Army (SLA)  troops  under Security Force HQ - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) completed construction of two new houses  with the support of donors  and vested them in needy families during simple ceremonies recently held at Thunnalai and Kattudai in Jaffna.

The SLA sources stated that Mrs Radiswaran Raseswari and her differently-able husband, along with their four children, residing at Thunnalai (South), Karaveddy was a recipient of a new house constructed by 4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.

Mrs Thabitha Chinnaiah and the Wanni Aid organization provided the sponsorship for the house with the coordination of Mattakkuliya Lions Club.

Meanwhile, a needy family of Mr. Fernando Renushan in Kattudai, Manipay (west) was vested in a new house built by the troops of the 513 Infantry Brigade of the 51 Infantry Division and 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry with the financial sponsorship of Mr. Sinnadurai Senthivel family in Canada in memory of late Mr. & Mrs. Thangamma Sinnadurai of Kattudai and the 'Wanni Aid Canada', together with the Lions Club of Modera/Mattakkuliya, the SLA stated.

SFHQ-J housing project was carried out under the instructions of  SF-J  Commander  Maj. Gen. Swarna Bothota and the financial sponsorship for both the houses was coordinated  Maj. Gen. Ravi Ratnasingham (Retd), the SLA further stated.

Senior Officers, state officials, invitees, relatives and civilians were also present at the house warming ceremonies held at the respective venues.
