Rains predicted over several provinces while sun is directly above Sri Lanka
April 12, 2023Rains are predicted over several places in the several Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces. According to the latest weather forecast issued by the Metrological Department showers or thundershowers are forecasted over Kandy, Nuwara-eliya, Galle and Matara districts during the afternoon or night as well.
Meanwhile, the sun will be directly over several areas of the island, the Met Dept also says. The sun will be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during the period from 05th to 15th of April.
The nearest areas of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (12 Apr) are Mankulam, Periyakulam, Kuratiyawa, Morawewa and Mahadiwlwewa at about 12:11 noon, it says.
