570 persons left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 12) stands at 762 and the total cases in the country increased to 31,374 the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

All the positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans while 445 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 135 from Gampaha District and 36 from Kaluthara District, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 12).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 27,743 and out of them, a total of 19 423 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 13,864 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (11) and  the day’s total recoveries from the virus during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (12) stands at 570.

Meanwhile, the total arrived in the country today morning reads as 523 which included 127 persons from Qatar, 96 from India and 300 from the UAE. They all will be directed for quarantining.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 22,830 persons. 8,397 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,810 persons are quarantining under 66 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 147 along with one Coronavirus death reported during the last 24 hours.
