MOD SVU sets up an RO Plant to facilitate rural community
April 18, 2023The Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit (MOD SVU) extending its community services recently established a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant facilitating safe drinking water for the water stressed residents of Dambulla, Alakolaweva village and the Alakolaweva Primary School students.
The RO plant built under the directions of the Chairperson of MOD SVU Chithrani Gunaratne was vested in its beneficiaries on 10 April during a brief ceremony.
The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) provided much needed technical expertise and labour for the project.
MOD’s Additional Secretary - Parliament Affairs and Policy Indika Wijegunawardana, Commanding Officer of SLAF Station - Sigiriya Group Captain Chaminda Herath, Coordinating Officer of MOD SVU Maj Tharaka Ganesh, students and villagers were present at the occasion.
