Met. Department issues Severe Lightening Warning
April 26, 2023A severe lightning warning has been issued by the natural hazards early warning center of the Metrology Department.
The Advisory issued at 1.00 pm and valid till 11.00 pm today (26 Apr) also predicts thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning likely to occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and North-Western provinces and in Mannar, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa districts during the evening or night. Fairly heavy showers above 75mm are likely at some places.
