Indian Naval Ship arrives in Trincomalee

Making a formal visit, the Indian Naval Ship (INS) ‘Batti Malv’ arrived at the Trincomalee port on Tuesday (May 16). According to Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) media sources, the visiting ship was welcomed by the SLN in compliance with naval traditions.

The 46m long INS ‘Batti Malv’ carrying a crew of 101 is commanded by Lieutenant Commander MAN Singh M Mane. The ship’s crew was engaged in a Visit Board Search & Seize (VBSS) training exercise at the Special Boat Squadron Headquarters in Trincomalee, it says.

Before departing the island on Wednesday (May 17), ‘Batti Malv’ is expected to engage in a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with a ship of the Sri Lanka Navy off Trincomalee.
