Army troops contribute in Dengue Prevention Programme
at Batticaloa and Manmunai

Sri Lanka Army troops under the Security Force HQ-East carried out a project to clean Batticaloa and Manmunai towns recently in compliance with the government’s Dengue Prevention Programme.
Troops of the 4 Gemunu Watch (GW) and 11 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) 231 Infantry Brigade troops of the 23 Infantry Division in Punani joined the project in coordination with the Batticaloa office of the Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Army sources stated.
Volunteers, Public Health Inspectors and Police officers of the area also joined the troops.
During this programme, possible mosquito breeding locations were inspected and residents were advised to keep their gardens clean and tidy while warnings were issued as required for public safety.
