Outgoing British Defence attaché meets SL Defence Secretary
May 31, 2023The outgoing Defence Attaché of the British High Commission in Colombo, Colonel Paul Clayton made a farewell call on the Defence Secretary, General Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Ministry in Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte today (May 31).
Col. Clayton met the Defence Secretary along with the incoming Defence attaché Colonel Darren Woods, this afternoon.
Gen. Gunaratne warmly received both officials and had a cordial discussion with them.
During the discussion, the Defence Secretary praised the services of Col. Clayton and thanked him for his support and assistance in maintaining friendly relations between the armed forces of both countries during his tenure in the island. Gen. Gunaratne also wished him well in all his future endeavours.
The Defence Secretary welcoming the incoming Defence attaché Col. Woods said that he looks forward to working closely in strengthening the existing friendly ties between the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka.
Military Liaison Officer Brigadier Dhammika Welagedara was also present at the occasion.
