SL Army builds house for needy family in Jaffna

Another house constructed by the Sri Lanka Army with donor assistance in Kaddaikadu in the Jaffna peninsula was handed over to the beneficiary family recently (Jun18).

According to Sri Lanka Army media, this is the 769th such house constructed by the SL Army under its project of building houses for deserving low income group families in the Jaffna region.

This house was constructed by the army after a request made by the beneficiary, S. Jesly Jayaraj of Vaththirayan, Kaddaikadu. The house warming ceremony was attended by Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General S. R. K Hettiarachch, it says.

The house was constructed with the manpower and technical skills of 12 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops.

Senior Superintendent of Police for Kilinochchi Division S.S.P Ajith Gunaratne, senior military officers and state officials were also present at the occasion.

The SL Army’s public service initiative of constructing houses for needy homeless families in the region aims to promote ethnic harmony, reconciliation, co-existence and peace.
