Combine Missions

The Sri Lankan military is immensely supporting in UN peacekeeping missions to maintain peace and security in the world earning reputation.

The Sri Lankan Aviation Unit’s No 62 Flight deployed in MINUSCA recently joined a mission launched to create a safer place for more than 2000 Internally Displaced People (IDP’s).

The unit joined a combined operation with the Zambian Special Forces conducted to assist to restore peace in the Boramata area in the Eastern Sector in the Central African Republic.

The officials of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) commended the efforts of the Sri Lankan Aviation Unit by giving recognitions to the readiness and professionalism extended in their hour of need.

         

 

Apart from this, the second group of the 5th contingent of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Aviation Unit under the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS) departed to South Sudan from Bandaranaike International Airport on  10 Dec.
