Army Troops nabbed a stock of smuggled turmeric and cardamom
December 15, 2020Mannar-based 54 Division troops of the Security Force HQ-Wanni with 11 Sri Lanka Artillery apprehended a stock of 4,300 kilos of smuggled turmeric and 80 kilos of cardamom and a suspect at Kaddukarankudiirippu, Mannar yesterday (Dec 14).
Swiftly acting on information received, the troops apprehended a suspect with the stock valued at Rs 27.4 million while he was attempting to transport them in his own vehicle.
The suspect and the smuggled stock were handed over to the Talaimannar Police for investigations.
