Army Troops douse fire in Engineering Faculty of Jaffna University
August 05, 2023Sri Lanka Army troops doused a major bushfire that was fast spreading in the Engineering Faculty premises of the Jaffna University at Kilinochchi yesterday evening (04 Aug).
Troops of the nearby 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni quickly attended to the cause on the directions of General Officer Commanding, 57 Infantry Division Maj. Gen. J.P.C Peiris, Army Media reported.
Troops doused the fire using water bowsers and extinguishers with the assistance of the members of the Kilinochchi Municipality Fire Department, the report confirmed.
