A total of 9,606 PCR tests conducted yesterday (15) - NOCPCO
December 16, 2020The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (Dec16) stands at 643 and the total positive cases in the country increased to 34,120, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
21 persons among the total positives identified yesterday were arrivals from overseas while 309 positives from Colombo District, 104 from Gampaha District, 119 from Kalutara and other 90 are from different Districts have been identified.
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 30,455 and out of them 21,459 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that 9,606 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (15) and the day’s total recoveries from the virus during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (16) stand at 558.
The total arrived in the country today morning reads as 181 which included 36 persons from Maldives, 93 persons from Qatar and 52 persons from Dubai. They all will be directed to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
Meanwhile, the NOCPCO confirmed Sri Lanka’s total recoveries from the virus increased to 24,866 and the country’s total deaths due to COVID-19 remains at 157.
