Army initiates Drug Prevention Awareness Programme at Kattankudy
September 15, 2023Sri Lanka Army’s Security Force HQ - East (SFHQ-E) initiated a Drug Prevention Awareness Programme at Kattankudy Madhya Maha Vidyalaya recently with the aim of keeping both students and civilians informed of dangers of narcotics and its use.
The Federation of Kattankudy Mosques and Islamic Institutions along with Alcohol and Drug Information Centre (ADIC) launched the project in consultation with Commander, Security Forces-East, religious authorities and the ADIC, the Army sources stated.
Over 600 students and youngsters in the area participated in the lecture session at the school.
Commander SF - East Maj. Gen. M.K.U.P Gunaratne, Senior Officers, religious and community leaders and heads of civil organizations attended the programme.
