Outgoing Bangladesh Defence Attaché meets SL Defence Secretary
September 25, 2023Commodore M.D. Shafiul Bari, Defence Attaché of the High Commission of Bangladesh for Sri Lanka, paid his courtesy farewell call to the Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Ministry in Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte today (Sep 25).
Gen. Gunaratne warmly welcomed Commodore Bari and had a cordial conversation with him. During the conversation, the outgoing envoy expressed his gratitude to the Defence Secretary for the cooperation and goodwill extended throughout the cordial encounter in Sri Lanka during his tenure.
They also recalled long-standing relationships between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka while emphasizing the significance of further strengthening such goodwill and ties. Gen. Gunaratne also wished him well in his future endeavours.
The meeting concluded with the sharing of souvenirs to mark the occasion attended by Military Liaison Officer Major General Dhammika Welagedara.
