Sri Lanka’s total recoveries from the virus increased to 25,651 - NOCPCO
December 17, 2020The identification of 616 coronavirus positives during the last 24 hours has increased the number of cases in the island up to 34,736, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated today (Dec 17).
Five persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas, while 266 positives from Colombo District, 94 from Gampaha District, 99 from Kandy District and 152 from different districts according to the NOCPCO.
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster has increased to 31,066 and out of them 22,244 has left hospitals following complete recovery.
The total arrived in the country today morning reads as 84 which included 42 persons from Qatar and 42 persons from Oman. They all will be directed to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 8,012 persons have been isolated in military-managed 81 quarantine centres as of today, NOCPCO also said.
