Navy continues to assist flood victims
October 06, 2023Following adverse weather conditions prevailing in several parts of the island, the Sri Lanka Navy has mobilized its flood relief teams in Akuressa, Thihagoda and Kamuburupitiya areas in the Southern Province as of 04th October 2023. These teams are currently engaged in providing assistance to the flood-affected individuals in those regions.
Due to the flood situation in the Kamburupitiya area of Matara district on 05th October 2023, caused by the overflowing of the Nilwala river and Kirambaara, the Navy teams are using dinghies to offer crucial transportation to people struggling to meet their everyday needs.
Moreover, the Navy stands prepared to offer assistance to individuals affected by the threat of flooding caused by the inclement weather conditions.
