SL Army troops braving the rains rush to assist flood victims
October 07, 2023Army troops under 61 Infantry Division are busy providing emergency flood relief assistance to flood victims in several areas in the Southern region.
Troops averted a major disaster by placing sandbags along the Sultangoda - Warakapitiya road to prevent flood water washing away and damaging low lying areas in Malimboda, says Army media.
Troops also assisted to evacuate several sick patients to hospitals for medical care. Flood affected communities are also being provided with cooked meals by the troops, it says.
