State Minister Tennakoon receives UK Minister of State for Indo-Pacific
October 10, 2023State Minister of Defence Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon received the Minister of State for Indo-Pacific of the United Kingdom, Hon. Anne-Marie Trevelyan at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) early this morning (Oct. 10).
The British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Andrew Patrick, joined State Minister Tennakoon on this occasion.
Minister Trevelyan arrived in Sri Lanka to attend 23rd Council of Ministers (COM) Meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) scheduled to be held tomorrow (Oct. 11) at the Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo.
The Meeting is hosted by the Government of Sri Lanka, the incoming IORA Chair on the theme “Strengthening Regional Architecture: Reinforcing Indian Ocean Identity”.
This Meeting will mark the handover of IORA Chair ship from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the current Chair, to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at the end of its two-year tenure.
