SL Navy installs own built RO water treatment
plant at Thuparamaya

A new Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plant installed by the Sri Lanka Navy at the Thuparamaya in Anuradhapura was declared open on Wednesday (Oct 18).
The new water purifying facility built by the navy with support from the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs and donors has the capacity to provide 15000 liters of safe drinking water daily to devotees visiting the temple, says navy media sources.
The new facility built at the historic Thuparamaya temple was declared open Navy Commander Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera. Incidentally this RO plant is the 983rd to be built and installed by the Sri Lanka Navy, it says.
Members of the Venerable Maha Sanga including the Atamasthanadhipathi and Chief Sanghanayaka of Nuwara Kalaviya, Most Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Nayaka Thera and Chief Incumbent of Thuparamaya, Venerable Kahalle Ganinanda Thera and senior naval officers were also present at the occasion, it further says.
