Sri Lanka Army assists the Puthukkudiyiruppu Farmers
October 26, 2023Sri Lanka Army troops of the 68 Infantry Division recently assisted farmers in Puthukkudiyiruppu and Sudandipuram areas in re-cultivating their abandoned paddy fields.
According to Army sources, the 3 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 9 Sri Lanka National Guard troops have assisted in the preparation of fields and provided financial support for the provision of paddy seeds.
The effort was supervised by the General Officer Commanding 68 Infantry Division, Major General Senaka Kasthurimudali and respective Commanding Officers, it further says.
