Army erects a new house for a deserving family in Thambalagamuwa
November 07, 2023Sri Lanka Army troops erected a new house for a needy family at Thambalagamuwa recently and vested it in the family of Mr.Chitra Velayudham Lingeshwaram Sharma during a simple ceremony.
Thambalagamuwa Divisional Secretariat of the Trincomalee District Secretariat has provided the land, financial assistance of Rs. 1.35 million and materials for the house construction, the Army sources stated.
15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (15 SLLI) troops of the 223 Infantry Brigade under the 22 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ– East (SFHQ-E) built the house following a request made by the Thambalagamuwa Divisional Secretariat.
Commander, SF-E Major General M.K.U.P Gunaratne, District Secretary of Trincomalee Mr Chaminda Hettiarachchi, Thambalagamuwa Divisional Secretary Mrs J Sripathy, Officers and Other Ranks, a crowd of locals and relatives also attended the house -warming ceremony.
