SLN sets up another RO Plant to facilitate rural community
December 20, 2020The Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) continuing its community welfare oriented services vested another Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant, for water-stressed residents in Hulannuge in Ampara recently.
Partnering the national program mooted to prevent the chronic kidney disease in several parts of the country, the SLN under the sponsorship of the Health Ministry has established 787 RO plants around the country while providing technical expertise and labour.
This noble initiative will fulfil the long-existing safe drinking water necessity of the Hulannuge Vidyalaya students and the regional community, the SLN said.
South-Eastern Naval Commander Rear Admiral Jayantha Gamage, Assistant Divisional Secretary in Lahugala, regional state officials, sailors, villagers and students were present at the inauguration ceremony.
