State Minister Tennakoon receives Japanese Finance Minister at BIA
January 11, 2024State Minister of Defence Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon received the Minister of Finance, Minister of State for Financial Services and Minister in charge of Overcoming Deflation of Japan, Hon. Suzuki Shunichi at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning (Jan 11).
Subsequently, the two high officials held a bilateral meeting at the BIA’s VIP Lounge. During the occasion, the State Minister Tennakoon extended his gratitude to the Japanese Minister and the Japanese government for their support and cooperation during the challenging period in the recent past. Furthermore, in an appreciative gesture, the visiting Minister also conveyed his thanks to the State Minister Tennakoon for the Sri Lanka’s unwavering support to Japan.
Minister Shunichi arrived in Sri Lanka for an official visit from 11 to 12 January and during the visit, Japanese Finance Minister is scheduled to have official discussions with President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Ali Sabry.
Further, the Minister Shunichi and the delegation will visit Parliament, JR Jayawardene Centre, Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital, Colombo Dockyard and Lanka Nippon Biztec Institute in Maharagama during their stay in Sri Lanka.
Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka HE Mizukoshi Hideaki, Chairman of Airport and Aviation in Sri Lanka Eng. Athula Galketiya and the Foreign Ministry Officials were also present to receive the visiting Japanese Minister.
