715 persons left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 21) stands at 594 and the total cases in the country increased to 37,260 the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Two persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas, while 253 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 124 from Gampaha District, 153 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 21).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 33,586 and out of them, a total of 24,859 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 17,233 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (20).

Meanwhile, the total arrived in the country today morning reads as 77 which included 25 persons from Qatar and 52 from Saudi Arabia. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.

A total of  715 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 28,266 persons. 8,818 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,659 persons are quarantining under 72 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 176 along with five Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
