Australian new Defence Adviser pays courtesy call on
the Acting Minister of Defence

The Defence Adviser (DA) for the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka Colonel Amanda Johnston paid a courtesy call on the Acting Minister of Defence, Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon, at his office in Colombo today (Jan 17).
Minister Tennakoon warmly welcomed Colonel Johnston upon her arrival and congratulated her on the new appointment.
During the occasion, the Minister emphasized the significance of the role entrusted as a Defence Adviser. He shared his diplomatic experience with the new Defence Adviser, encouraging her to work towards the best interests of both nations. Furthermore, the Minister also invited the new DA to explore the island nation during her tenure.
The cordial discussion centred on various matters related to defence cooperation between the Sri Lankan and Australian Defence Forces and emphasized the mutual commitment towards better cooperation and enhancing existing close ties.
Marking the strong and enduring goodwill between the two defence forces, Minister Tennakoon presented a memento to Col Amanda Johnston towards the end of the event.
