Navy assistance to develop school sanitary facilities
February 07, 2024Sanitary facilities of several schools in the Medawachchiya region were upgraded with the generous participation of Sri Lanka Navy troops. According to SL navy media, naval manpower was provided for the development of sanitation facilities of Puleliya Vidyalaya, Thulawelliya Vidyalaya and Ginikatuwewa Vidyalaya Rambewa under a Naval Social Responsibility initiative. These facilities were bestowed for the use of students on Monday (Feb. 05).
The construction work of the project was carried out by the North Central Naval Command Civil Engineering Department under the supervision of Area Commander Rear Admiral Naleen Nawarathna. The programme was carried out with the sponsorship of philanthropists.
