Defence Secretary visits Iranian Naval Ship
February 18, 2024Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne visited the Iranian Naval Ship IRINS Tonb at the Port of Colombo on Saturday (Feb 17).
The duo of ships IRINS Tonb and Bushehr arrived in Sri Lanka on Friday (Feb 16) on an official visit.
The Defence Secretary visited the ship as a special invitee on an invitation extended by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran H. E. Dr. Alireza Delkhosh. He was received by the Commanding Officer of IRINS Tonb, Commander Mohammad Haji Zadeh upon his arrival on board the ship, last evening.
The Commander of the Navy, members of the diplomatic corps, Vice Chancellor of General Sir Jhon Kothelawala Defence University and Military Liaison Officer of the Ministry of Defence were also present at the occasion.
