Eastern seas set the stage for TRINEX - 24

The Sri Lanka Navy’s “Trincomalee Naval Exercise (TRINEX) - 24” enters its second day after commencing at the Navy Dockyard in Trincomalee on Monday (Mar. 04). According to Navy media, this training exercise is aimed at continuously enhancing its operational efficiency.

TRINEX is conducted in the Trincomalee harbor and eastern seas in two main phases: the harbour phase and the sea phase. The sea phase will be held in the eastern seas from today till Friday (08) with the participation of naval ships Gajabahu, Sayurala, Parakramabahu, Nandimithra, Samudura, Shakthi, Ranarisi and Prathapa and Fast Attack Craft of the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla. Sri Lanka Air Force air assets including Bell 412, Bell 212 and Mi 17 helicopters will also be participating in the exercise, it says.

The opening ceremony of TRINEX was held on Monday (04) at the Navy Dockyard with the participation of Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva. The exercise will go on till March 08th, it says.
