Army Troops Participate in United Nations FTE Exercise Shanti Prayas - IV in Nepal

The Field Training Event (FTE) Exercise SHANTI PRAYAS - IV was hosted by the Nepalese Armed Forces and co-sponsored by the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) under the US Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM). It was held at the Birendra Peace Operations Training Center in Nepal from 20 February to 04 March 2024.

Twelve platoons from twelve different countries participated in the exercise. Representing the Sri Lanka Army, two Officers and nineteen Other Ranks took part in Exercise SHANTI PRAYAS - IV.

A pre-course was conducted at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) before participating in the exercise under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel M.A.A. P. Perera RWP RSP psc and Major K.N.S Mendis.

The objectives of the exercise were to enhance tactical-level peace operations training and exchange organizational Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to reinforce and improve multinational interoperability in tactical peace operations, with additional emphasis on the Protection of Civilians (POC).
