A total of 13,860 PCR tests conducted yesterday - NOCPCO

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 22) stands at 370 and the total cases in the country increased to 37,630 the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Six persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas while 101 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 67 from Gampaha District, 46 from Kaluthara District and 150 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 22).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 33,950 and out of them, a total of 25,274 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 13,860 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (21).

Meanwhile, the total arrived in the country today morning reads as 112 which included 50 persons from the United Arab Emirates, 35 persons from Qatar and 27 from Lebanon. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.

A total of  415 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 28,681 persons. 8,773 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,473 persons are quarantining under 72 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

Coronavirus deaths have not been reported from the country during the last 24 hours.
