Army’s Way Forward Strategy 2020-2025 launched today
December 22, 2020Sri Lanka Army Way Forward Strategy 2020-2025 (SLAWFS) was ceremonially launched today ( Dec 22) at the Army Headquarters with the gracious presence of the Principal Advisor to HE the President Mr. Lalith Weeratunga as the Chief Guest.
The Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne graced as a distinguished guest of the ceremony.
SLAWFS has been prepared with the contribution of the civil-military scholars under the directives of Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva focusing the modernization in the defence spectrum on a par with the world and upgrading the Army military strategy for the next five years.
During the ceremony, copies of ‘Sri Lanka Army Way Forward Strategy 2020-2025’ were distributed to the dignitaries and the invitees.
In marking the significant session, Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva presented mementos to Mr Lalith Weeratunga and Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne.
Army senior officers including the Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Prabhath Dematanpitiya, Deputy Chief of Staff, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Security Force Commanders were also present at the occasion.
