Jaffna Troops Build Two New Houses for Needy Families
April 04, 2024The troops of Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna showing their concern for human welfare, erected two new houses for needy families in Varani area. The new houses were vested in the beneficiaries on 02 April 2024 during a brief ceremony.
During the warming ceremony, the house keys were symbolically handed over to the families by Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B. Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander Security Forces -Jaffna (SF - J).
Under the program of Provincial Specific Development Project, the Governor’s Secretariat of Northern Provincial Council allocated 1.8 Million rupees for raw materials of both houses. Houses were constructed by troops of the 11 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) and 7 VIR with the technical assistance of the 5 Corps of Engineer Services.
Afterwards, the Commander, SF - J distributed stationary items for children of Mariyamadi Preschool in Killaly. Later on, lunch was offered to kids. The event was organized by the troops of 23 Gemunu Watch.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Government officials and several others were present for both occasions.
