618 persons left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 23) stands at 428 and the total cases in the country increased to 38,058, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

One person among the total positives identified yesterday was a Sri Lankan repatriated from overseas, while 193 of them have been identified from Kaluthara District, 101 from Colombo District, 42 from Trincomalee District and 91 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 23).

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 34,377 and out of them, a total of 25,892 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 11,617 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (22).

Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 101 which included 44 persons from United Arab Emirates, 24 persons from Qatar, 14 persons from India, 14 persons from Maldives, 05 from Indonesia. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.

A total of 618 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 29,299 persons. 8,517 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,292 persons are quarantining under 72 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 183 along with seven Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
