Sri Lanka’s total recovery from the virus rose to 29,881 persons - NOCPCO
December 24, 2020The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 24) stands at 580 and the total cases in the country increased to 38,638, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
One person among the total positives identified yesterday was a Sri Lankan repatriated from overseas, while 228 of them have been identified from Colombo District, 108 from Gampaha District, 68 from Kaluthara District and 175 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 24).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 34,956 and out of them, a total of 26,474 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
NOCPCO also stated that a total of 13,895 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (23).
Meanwhile, the total arrival in the country as of today morning reads as 64 which included 51 persons from Qatar, 13 from Maldives. They all will be referred to quarantine centres managed by Tri-Forces.
A total of 582 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 29,881 persons. 8,573 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,284 persons are quarantining under 76 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 184 along with one Coronavirus death reported during the last 24 hours.
