Army’s Christian Service invokes blessings on Armed Forces
December 24, 2020The Sri Lanka Army’s Christian Fellowship organized Christmas Benediction yesterday evening (Dec 23) at the Army Headquarters.
The event was presided by the Colombo Archbishop His Eminence Dr. Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.
His Eminence Cardinal Ranjith made the invocation for divine blessings for the fallen War Heroes, all those personnel engaged in mitigating COVID-19, all the armed forces members and all Sri Lankans.
Making prayers for the fight against coronavirus and peace and prosperity, His Eminence read out the Gospel and the Christmas Message during the session.
The Army’s customary Christian Service on the eve of Christmas was held with a representative gathering while adhering to the healthcare guidelines.
Acting Chief of Defence Staff and the Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva, Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and their spouses, Army Christian Fellowship’s Chairman and the members, Senior officers and Other Ranks were also present at the occasion.
